Chef notes
This recipe is from Jose el Cook on TikTok. The oats make them way chewier than a regular chocolate chip cookie. The edges get crispy, the middle stays soft, and the chocolate chips stay a little melty. The whole batch was gone the same day.
Ingredients
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- ⅓ cup sugar
- ⅔ cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup rolled oats
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- ¾ cup chocolate chips
Recipe
- 1.Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2.Beat 1 stick of softened butter with ⅓ cup sugar and ⅔ cup brown sugar until creamy, about 2 minutes.
- 3.Beat in 1 egg until combined, scraping down the bowl.
- 4.Stir together 1 cup flour, 1 tsp baking soda, and 1 tsp salt, then mix into the butter mixture until just combined.
- 5.Stir in ¾ cup oats and ¾ cup chocolate chips.
- 6.Scoop the dough into balls and place about 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
- 7.Bake 9–11 minutes until the edges are golden but the centers still look soft. Cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before eating.
